In collaboration with the graphic design studio Sopa Graphics, we did the image for the music festival Nit Sonora 2010. It is an avantgarde music festival in Lleida.
The posters are now in the street, in lots of shops, walls and bus stops.
The model is Verònica Casals. Make up was from Pietat from The Body Studio and the hair work was made by The Hair Studio.
All the objects are made by Sopa Graphics and me.

We wanted to shoot a crazy scottish man in traditional clothes in a surrealistic scene.
Technically, as you can apreciate, we used the natural light and added some flash light with octobox.

During some weeks, I was working with the design studio Medusa Team to create the cover for an album of the spanish Hip Hop band Grand Groove.
They wanted to have a collage looking image without any retouching or pasting. We did it with real objects and printed images. After that, we did a photography with a Tilt and Shift lense to play a bit woth the realism and the perspectives and give to ot some dynamism.

First of all, sorry for this month and a half of silence from here! I have been more than busy in the last months and during some weeks I was not able to post anything here. It never will happen again!!
During April, I traveled to Cannes, France to assist to the World Photography Awards 2010 organized by Sony.
It was a great festival and this year Istockphoto was an important part of the organization of the event.
I was invited to organize a shooting-workshop of portraits for the assistants where they were at the same time photographers and models for other people. It was a crazy afternoon full of fun for us and the attendees to the festival.

I also was invited to do an speeching-workshop on sunday about the new business of photography with the photographers Eva Serrabassa and Alexey Ivanov. I talked about the importance of the characters and the stories in the comercial photography. You can find a very good resume of what i said here. Thanks to the people of Microstock Diaries for listening, taking notes and publishing it on their website.

I made this selfportrait to celebrate the 10th birthday of Istock, where I have some of my pictures and also where I work as image inspector and content administrator.
They launched a website today to celebrate the 10 years and during all the day they are doing activities, contests, etc. You can see there thousands of selfportraits from contributors and clients, including this one.

This is the result of two weeks of hard work in a comissioned work for the Graphic Design Studio Medusa Team. It’s a portrait of them for the new website they will launch soon.
The hard part of this shooting has been doing it without retouching or composing. The geometrical forms were where you’re seing it. They were made from paper and they had multiple sizes and colours. Sometimes they were dropped and some other times they were hanging from a string, depending of where and how we needed them. We used a good Mafrotto tripod who helped us doing multiple exposures when we needed them. We also need to say thank you to the good old Bowens flashes for his fast, constant and regular light. We’ll post a making of as soon as posible.
It has been shooted in our studio in 5 diferent photosessions during 2 weeks.
