I have made a portrait of Joan Duran.
He’s a multidisciplinar and conceptual artist (video, photography, installations, performances, etc.).
Long ago he studied chemistry, psicology and arqueology (well, he was expulsed of the university before ending archeology). He invented the electric photography (he almost had a cardiac arrest in one of his experiments with this technique).
He worked a lot of years as chemical engineer specialized in oils for a big fuel company. But the art always was calling him. He left this job and worked in art seminars around the world. He worked in his own pieces and creations that had been exposed around the world.
Some years ago he came to Lleida and created a cooperative school for art with other artists and professionals.
His lessons consisted of nothing in particular but he could talk for hours about the bible, the Fibonacci series and golden section, the string theory, the silence of the cemeteries or the biography of a local poet. He was terrifying for most students and inspiring for the less.
I was one of the less ones. I have liked to be his friend many years ago, but now is great.
This is my portrait of him.

Sunday I made my first tourist trip to Barcelona.
This is the photo that I shot.

In the picture, Klaas’s hand. Behind, Montse, Esther and me.
Black and white nudes.
Playing with non idyllic measures and real bodies.

This is a short serie with -again- the actor LluÃs Niubò (well, he’s the best actor in this city and I work well with him).
Marta Gil has been the assistant.
The idea is the businessmen and the junk food, the too much short lunch time, the stress and the dirty sauces. The images are two funny possibilities of this combination.
I have tried to use a dark suit as background (I have worked with closed frames) and used some smashing vivid colors to contrast with it.
Bon appetit!
